Covers have light age toning, else pristine and intact, binding tight, sharp tips. Near Fine beige cloth-covered slipcase. SIGNED and INSCRIBED in black pen by Peter John Powell to Dee Ulrich on a front flyleaf of Vol. I. Beautiful two-volume set containing an in-depth history of Cheyenne tribe from the 1830s to the 1870s. Author Peter John Powell covers many parts of the history of the Cheyenne people including the flourishing years of their culture on the Midwestern plains, the encroachment by white American settlers, the ensuing "Indian Wars," the last efforts by the Cheyenne to retain their homelands and traditional ways of life, and the reservation era. Also includes an Epilogue covering the years 1969-1974.
