Revised Edition. Very Good, dark green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and gilt decorations on front and spine, top edge gilt. Covers have slight wear to extremities and mild rubbing, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages have light age toning and a former owner's inscription in green ink on verso of frontispiece, else clean and intact. Includes 17 charming full-page plates of drawings by Frank T. Merrill. Two of the plates are misbound (appear earlier than stated), but all plates are present. Washington Irving's famous collection of essays and short stories written under his pseudonym, Geoffrey Crayon.
