The Rotunda of Arsinoe is Volume 7 of the Samothrace series, excavations conducted by the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Text by James R. Mccredi, Georges Roux, Stuart M. Shaw, and John Kurtich with contributions by Phyllis Williams Lehmann, et al. Some texts are written in French. NYU’s archaeological team led by Karl Lehmann uncovered the Rotunda of Arsinoe in 1939, 1948, and 1949 (from Editor’s Preface). The structure was “dedicated by Queen Arsinoe II for cult purposes early in the third century B.C.” (from the dust jacket). This incredibly thorough text describes the structure’s construction, style, and rich history. The authors have cataloged the extensive finds from the excavation, including ceramics and coins (from the contents).
